Disney housekeeper caught stealing from hotel guests in Mickey Mouse sting operation

Disney World housekeeper Mayra Burgos
A Walt Disney World housekeeper has been charged after Walt Disney World security set up a Mickey Mouse undercover sting operation inside a Disney World hotel room to catch Disney World hotel workers in the act of theft.

Disney wannabe detectives said hidden surveillance cameras inside the hotel room caught Disney housekeeper Mayra Alejandra Burgos, of Taft, stealing from guests at Disney's Old Key West Resort.

The investigation came after Disney security noticed a high number of reported thefts from hotel guests whose rooms Burgos had recently serviced as a Disney cast member.

According to the arrest report, investigators placed a $200 in $20 bills on a nightstand of a staged guest's room and entrapped Burgos on hidden camera taking $20 after cleaning the room in their corporate sting operation.

Details of Burgos' citizenship or immigration status is not known; however, we were told by our sources at Disney that Burgos does not speak English, which may shed light Disney's unchecked practice of hiring undocumented workers.

Burgos has since been released out of jail on $1,500 bond, and her immigration status is still undetermined; however, if she turns out to be an undocumented worker, Disney may, themselves, have some explaining to do on why they were employing an undocumented worker.

A Mickey Mouse investigator confronted Burgos after she exited the room, and Disney security conducted an interview with her without lawyers present, an Orange County Sheriff's affidavit says. Orange County deputies arrested Burgos on grand theft charges for taking $20.

This is not the first incident where a Disney housekeeper was caught burglarizing guests' hotel room.

In 2013, Disney housekeeper Bruna Francois was arrested for stealing money from hotel guests at Disney's All-Star Music Resort after she was caught in a similar sting operation with hidden cameras taking $20 from a safe hidden inside a guest's closet.

Overall, the message sent to all cast members from Disney management is crystal clear: all cast members are subject to invasive interrogations and investigations because management thinks that anyone who works for the Mouse is not trustworthy to take their responsibilities seriously.

All we can say to Disney is something they are famous for saying: Let it go!
